Olugbenga Agboola is a businessman and entrepreneur that comes from Lagos, Nigeria. He has come a long way since his beginnings and is currently a CEO at a high-tech financial services company. He got a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Then, he got IT certifications to help him in the technology industry, and he later got a degree from a British university in project management and advanced computing. He then got a master’s degree in IT security and behavioral engineering to add to his many skills. He wanted to develop all of the skills needed to be competitive in the fintech world, and he accomplished that well.
Financial Experience
Before starting a company in the technology sector, Olugbenga Agboola worked for many other companies, holding various roles at big companies and learning more about the industry and how it works. He served as an application developer for British Telecom Professional Services at first, getting established in technology. He then went to PayPal and spent several years as an application engineer for the enormous financial company. He worked for Standard Bank next and was the transactional product development manager, an important role that allowed him to work in a field that fascinated him. During this time, he continued his education, taking courses and engaging in programs that would teach him a lot that would make him a more effective leader. He finished the Fundamentals of Finance for The Technical Executive program at MIT as well as other helpful programs.
Olugbenga Agboola spent some time working for Standard Bank Nigeria where he was a product developer and project manager. He was the dead of mobile finance services at Sterling Bank after that. He continued to serve in roles in the finance industry and was named the senior entrepreneur in residence for the Africa Fintech Foundry. He’s now an entrepreneur with the Royal Bank of Scotland. He has participated in programs at Northwestern University and Wharton and keeps adding to his many skills.
Olugbenga Agboola and Flutterwave
Having so much experience in financial technology, he became the co-founder of a fintech company himself called Flutterwave. This company has become a major player in the financial services technology industry. It is based in San Francisco and Lagos, and it’s recently been expanding thanks to a highly successful round of financing and investments from well-known companies.
When he co-founded Flutterwave, Olugbenga Agboola became its chief technology officer, overseeing the technology used in the company. By 2018, he was the CEO of the company and continues to fulfill that role. He is also an entrepreneur and is a financial technology engineer for the company. His many years of experience in financial technology have taught him a lot about the industry, and he has continued to thrive in it.
